Corral Boss — Permanent: Year-Round

Corral Boss  wanted for year around Guest Ranch and Riding stable. We are looking for a person with extensive experience  with horses and people in the Guest Ranch and Riding Stables business. The Corral Boss is directly responsible for supervising and running all aspects of the horse corral operations.  He is the lead man in the corral is responsible for supervising the crew and making sure all their duties are carried out as directed.The Corral Boss is responsible for the care of the livestock including doctoring, feeding schedule, shoeing schedule saddling and tacking, maintaining tack, and maintaining the equipment, machines, and the buildings. One of the most important duties is evaluating the guest and sizing up the horse and rider and picking horses for the guest.The ability to train and ride colts in preparation for the string is also important.The Corral Boss must have the ability to lead, motivate, and supervize the crew to make sure they are accountable for performing their duties as expected.  Great people skills are a must as our business is all about giving our guest a great experience.

Job Description
THIS IS NOT A WRANGLER POSITION.  Working under the supervision of the ranch manager and head maintenance person, daily maintenance of guest ranch property and structures, e.g. fence repair, pasture irrigation, firewood cutting/splitting, pool cleaning, lawn care, and duties as assigned that could include minor plumbing/carpentry/electrical repair.

Job Requirements
Friendly and willing to learn new skills. Solid work ethic, good physical health, ability to work independently, knowledge of safe operation of power tools and equipment. Previous maintenance, ranch or construction experience a plus, but not necessary.

Compensation

Job Requirements

A deep love of the outdoors, for both recreation and serenity is a requirement, along with 3-5 years' experience in the hospitality or service industry, with preference for either hospitality degree/credential, or relevant college degree.  A successful candidate will be someone who has the ambition, talents and skills to become the lodge manager, and run all guest operations over the long run.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication and leadership skills, excellent people skills, a solid work ethic, stamina, a genuine interest in providing personalized, quality vacation experiences to guests, capacity to be flexible, creative and always gracious, ability to remain focused in a busy multi-task environment to prioritize competing needs, and delegate appropriately.

Wranglers, responsible for the care and maintenance of 55+ horses. Duties include feeding, mucking out stalls, doctoring injured horses, grooming, saddling, leading trail rides, and entertaining the guests in the evenings (i.e. hosting or participating in the evening activity, such as volleyball, karaoke, or line dancing). Working with some of the problem horses or working on some of the bad habits they may have picked up from having a different rider every week. Job Requirements
Must be comfortable handling horses and know how to saddle and bridle. Experience working with beginner horseback riders as well as young horses, is always beneficial.
